Sometimes when I pray I ask God to help me understand and feel his presence and to take away my intellectualizing of religion. I don't want to have to convince myself of the mystery, I want to be taken over by it from outside of me.

Whoever wrote the paragraph above lacks maturity at best, and is a hypocrite at worst. Hate is not the correct reaction when dealing with those who are lost. It is not our place to condemn them as beyond redemption and take vengeance. Do not act on these feelings or you will fracture your own soul. We are meant to leave things better than we found them, not to destroy our enemies. Separate yourself and make peace that this world is evil, do not be hardened by it.

The person who wrote the paragraph is the greatest saint of the 20th century, and one of the greatest saints / sages / prophets of all time. His words were words of sacred rage infused with the Divine Fire.

In all due seriousness, however, you are correct in the latter part of your comment. We must, in these times, flow like water and burn like fire, but never become hardened to the modern world or it will break us down. Oh, we will be broken down either way, but there is a qualitative difference to being broken down by the Mills of God and the gears of the Machine.

The greatest saint of all time huh? Don't you know the last shall be first and the first last? I will let you in on a little known fact about saints.... They all share a common trait that is almost always overlooked except by those who know what to look for.

They are all the first to admit they are selfish, shitty, garbage people haha. They constantly confess this to others and yet most dismiss it. Do you know why this is? Many have seen the state of their own soul in the presence of God, and its not pretty... I fall into this category as well, my spirit is malevolent af... I would not wish it on another human being ever. I know exactly what kind of evil I am capable of without Jesus.

Do not worship prophets who claim greatness, for wisdom demands they be tested with fire. Any man who glorifies himself is a false prophet. Any who glorifies Jesus Christ as Lord is true.

You do not even know who you are do you? Your inheritance? You need no teacher to claim your birthright, just faith and a love of truth.

I was engaging in some playful hyperbole. Part of the paragraph quoted above wasn't even written by the person it was malevolently attributed to. It was a false statement fabricated by the judas John Middleton Murray. This post was meant as a mirror for certain theologians: there are some theologians today who claim to be profoundly kind, charitable, loving, gentle-hearted, but they are vile human beings who live in a cesspool of their hate and who treat others miserably. May they see themselves in this mirror, see the harm their actions do, and correct them so that no harm may come to others. The true man of Jesus is not he who can quote the most Bible verses, but he who sells his Bible so that he may feed the poor.

Haha 😂 That one went over my head. Sadly you are the exception not the rule, most people aren’t being sarcastic when they post this kind of stuff.

Most theologians I have come across are really mean if you ask questions or add input. You’d think someone who committed their career to spending time with Jesus would have had a little more of his character sink in at some point 😂.

I thought they were maybe not very well trained or good at their job and just needed a little help. Turns out they just memorized catchphrases without ever really taking the time to actually understand it. Not only that but they also won’t admit they don’t understand and ask for help. We are never supposed to stop learning, but cheers to you 🥂

I miss sarcasm, it’s been too long since I’ve been around others who are intelligent and brave enough to confront these issues head on.
